Dr. Professor Farhat Asif is an expert in international relations and diplomacy, possessing intimate knowledge of international relations, foreign politics, and diplomatic studies institutes. She has led innovative projects on foreign politics, international relations, mass media, and public diplomacy, promoting cultural, educational, and commercial connections among global communities.
As the President and Founder of the Institute of Peace and Diplomatic Studies (IPDS), Dr. Professor Farhat Asif leads an important think tank focused on the progress of peace, security, and sustainability.
Johan Galtung, esteemed professor and known worldwide as the Father of Peace Studies, laid the foundations of IPDS.
Under Dr. Farhat’s leadership, the Institute has established numerous research centers, including the SCO Studies Centre, the Centre for BRI and China Studies, the Centre for Eurasia and Central Asian Studies, the Centre for American Studies, the Centre for African Studies, and the Centre for Women Peace and Leadership. The latter was established by Nobel Prize recipient Mrs.Tawakkol Abdel Salam Karman during her historic visit to Pakistan, following Dr. Farhat’s invitation.
Dr. Farhat Asif also oversees the Journal of Peace and Diplomacy (JPD), an annual research magazine focused on foreign politics and security. She recently launched the Global Women Insight online platform, highlighting the stories of women who have contributed to the world's development during live discussions.
Dr. Farhat Asif received the N-Peace Award in 2017 in the category of "Campaigning for Action" from the UNDP Asia Pacific, the Canadian Government, and Washington DC’s Inclusive Security Institute.
She was also awarded the Fellowship of the Global Change Leaders Program in 2018 by the Coady International Institute at St. Francis Xavier University of Antigonish, Nova Scotia, Canada. Moreover, Dr. Farhat was honored with the prestigious "Public Diplomat" award by the Republic of Uzbekistan.
She earned a PhD in Public Diplomacy from Quaid-I-Azam University with a thesis on "Pakistan’s Membership of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization: opportunities and challenges." Her areas of research include foreign politics, international relations, security and strategic studies, with a special focus on the Eurasian area.
Dr. Farhat Asif was also awarded a prestigious Leadership Fellowship by Washington DC’s International Women’s Forum for a one-year leadership mentoring program, making her the first Pakistani woman in over 30 years to participate in the program.

La Dr. prof.ssa Farhat Asif è esperta di relazioni internazionali e diplomazia e possiede una profonda comprensione delle relazioni internazionali, della politica estera e degli istituti di studi diplomatici. Ha guidato iniziative innovative in politica estera, relazioni internazionali, media e diplomazia pubblica, facilitando i collegamenti culturali, educativi e commerciali tra le diverse comunità globali.
La Dr. prof.ssa Farhat Asif, in qualità di Presidente Fondatore dell'Istituto di Studi Diplomatici e di Pace (IPDS), dirige un importante think-and-do tank dedicato al progresso della pace, della sicurezza e dello sviluppo sostenibile. La prima pietra dell'IPDS è stata posta dal rinomato professore Johan Galtung,
riconosciuto come Padre degli Studi sulla Pace in tutto il mondo. Sotto la guida della dr. Farhat, l'Istituto ha istituito vari centri di ricerca, tra cui il Centro per gli studi SCO, Centro per gli studi BRI e Cina, Centro per gli studi Eurasia e Asia centrale, Centro per le Americhe, Centro per gli studi africani, Centro per la
Pace e la Leadership delle Donne, insieme al Congresso delle Giovani Donne Emergenti, inaugurato dal Premio Nobel Mrs. Tawakkol Abdel Salam Karman durante la sua visita in Pakistan, su invito della Dr. Farhat.
