On February 18, 2026, 36 Restorative Justice Centers were officially established across the national territory.
The announcement was made by the Ministry of Justice during a press conference attended by Deputy Minister Francesco Paolo Sisto.
This initiative represents a significant step in the implementation of the Cartabia Reform (Legislative Decree No. 150 of October 10, 2022), introduced in recent years with the aim of complementing the traditional criminal justice system with new tools for managing the conflict generated by crime.
Restorative Justice is a form of justice complementary to the traditional retributive model. It does not focus exclusively on punishing the offender but actively involves the victim, the offender, and the community in seeking a shared solution.
It is a model oriented toward repairing harm, fostering reconciliation, and strengthening the collective sense of security through voluntary and consensual processes.
A fundamental milestone for our students in the Curriculum in Applied Multicultural Mediation!
